Books Worth Reading May 28, 2007

There are so many books in the world, that you don’t want to waste time reading a so-so one. Although I know we all have different tastes, here are a few that I really enjoyed, in no particular order:

  • The Secret Life of Bees – Sue Monk Kidd
  • The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time – Mark Haddon
  • If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things – Jon McGregor
  • The Kite Runner – Khaled Hosseini
  • The Thirteenth Tale – Diane Setterfield
  • The Rescue Artist: A True Story of Art, Thieves, and the Hunt for a Missing Masterpiece – Edward Dolnick
  • A Painted House – John Grisham

Thanks for this list! You’re absolutely right about not wasting time on so-so books. You should add Corrie Ten Boom’s The Hiding Place and Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, in my opinion!

I like your list! When I’ve finished my Harry Potter reread I’ll check out one of your recommendations – probably The Secret Life of Bees. Whenever you get around to it, Cane River is a good one . . .
